The House On Haunted Hill – 1959

I love watching Svengooliebut, living where I do,  I have to keep up with the show by Image result for the house on haunted hillFacebook and watching the movies on YouTube if possible.  This last week was 13 Ghosts, which I couldn’t find free to watch anywhere.  So,  The House On Haunted Hill, 1959 original with Vincent Price was my choice instead.

I forgot just how campy-creepy the movie was, and just how much fun!  You loved to dislike Vincent Price‘s character in the beginning, and then feel sorry for him, in some weird way, by the end of the movie.  I dare say – you actually respected the character to a degree!

Sometimes it is so much fun to watch a good thriller-y camp movie without having to suffer through all the bloody mess that makes up the modern thriller/horror genre.  I highly recommend this for a relaxing evening with a glass of wine or a joynt and maybe a box of chocolates (if you have the joynt you will be prepared with the snacks, or should be).  It is a perfectly fun-to-watch movie, especially if you love old black-and-white thriller-y camp horror movies.

About Henrietta Handy

I have returned home to the mountains. No more am I "a mountain-girl far from home." Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 2 1/2, I understand pain, fatigue, laughter, joy, and love all while on crutches and in wheelchairs. This blog is just about me, mostly the writing side, but there are forays into so many different topics. I am married to a wonderful husband who puts up with my writing, knitting, yarn, with the love of a saint. We have fur babies, and one cat who rules us all.
