TV Noise In The Background

Re-runs of Walker Texas Ranger is playing on the TV as I’m settling down to relaxing.  The TV in the room where I write now doesn’t have cable and I’m finding this fact has a calming effect for me:  There are few channels to choose from.  If a current series I like isn’t playing then I go for some of the straight “old shows on TV channels” and, of an evening, that’s usually Walker Texas Ranger.

It seems odd, but one of the last true television Men is Cordel Walker.  Other men have popped up through the years, but Walker was a traditional man.  He tried to talk his way out of trouble, or even calming a situation down but saw nothing wrong with taking action with his fists (or feet) instead of his gun.  However, he would use his gun if necessary.

I miss shows like this.  I must not be the only one because many of them are on-the-air, literally.

About Henrietta Handy

I am a Kentucky mountain girl far from home, perhaps far from the girl years. I am an aspiring writer with a wonderful husband who puts up with this writing and reading addiction I have. He also puts up with all of the yarn and knitting. I have four canine children and a ton of friends I love dearly. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 2 1/2 and have still managed to have a good life despite all the pain. So, I invite you to join me in this journey and just possibly have fun along the way.
