Moving, or any life-changing event gives you a chance to look at the items (clutter) your life collects. When we had to leave the house three years ago there wasn’t a chance for us to really go through our things and decide what we should and shouldn’t take. This move is different. This move we have time to look at the collection of life-items and make a conscious decision what is going to go with us into this next phase of our lives.
A good number of items we’ve collected over these past three years are things going with us: video games, a turtle and all of his items, and, of course, books. However, there are some things I’ve discovered in going through the house on a once-over that are definitely not going with us like clothes I never wear any more or clothes I can’t wear any more because they’re too big! (**happy dance**) The same goes for The Husband and some of his clothes.
I’ve also decided all the old, worn out utensils are going and a number of other things from the kitchen.
This move is a new beginning, a wonderful new phase in our lives.
Forward we go.
Happy New Beginnings. Not moving, but I plan to declutter before the holidays. It’s amazing how things can build up — and I have a huge build up.
