Sunny (Basketball) Saturday

After all the rain we had yesterday, the sun has come out today with promises of warmer weather and more sunshine.  The temperature is cooler than last week’s, setting my arthritis into angry grumblings in my joints.  The weather forecasts for the following week is saying rain every day.  With the way my joints are feeling, I agree there will be dampness more than likely.  It is Spring.  It is April and “April showers bring May flowers” after all.

While working on the sci-fi story yesterday, questions kept popping up.  Some were technical about research tests, etc., and other questions about how a person would react if they hadn’t grown up in hospitals.  This made the flow stop because it is a serious question.  The research facility is off the beaten path in the story and is guarded by Marines (Hoo-rah!).  Seasoned Marines who’ve seen active combat.  The unit consists of  70-30 of seasoned Marines and non-combat seasoned Marines.  From what I know of the Marines and Army Rangers I’ve known personally, these guys take their tasks, their orders seriously.  I also know the military men and women in the unit in my story don’t really appreciate the lead researcher.  They do not trust her.  I can’t explain why here.  There was also a question raised about what machine would give which test results.

After researching a bit, I believe I am ready to get back to work.

About Henrietta Handy

I am a Kentucky mountain girl far from home, perhaps far from the girl years. I am an aspiring writer with a wonderful husband who puts up with this writing and reading addiction I have. He also puts up with all of the yarn and knitting. I have four canine children and a ton of friends I love dearly. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 2 1/2 and have still managed to have a good life despite all the pain. So, I invite you to join me in this journey and just possibly have fun along the way.
