Terry Pratchett Passes, Anonymous Sends A Message to Kanye West, And Words

Today has been a day of news – good and bad.  The passing of  Sir Terry Pratchett is top of the list today.  The creator and author of the Discworld series passed away at 66.  This is young in today’s modern era.  There were many more books he could still write if not for “posterior cortical atrophy, a rare form of dementia.”  This is a form of Alzheimer’s as I understand.  In one article read today about his writing, Sir Pratchett switched from a laptop to dictaphone to continue writing.  Clicking on Sir Pratchett’s name will take you to a wonderful article about him and give a better obituary.  Learning one of the most popular and prolific writer’s passing wasn’t something I expected to read today.

This man saw the world differently and combined mythology and wonderful story elements to create something many people saw, and still see, as artistic.  The stories he wrote were challenging to the thinker.  Will we see the likes of him again?  No, but there will be many who continue to write because they want to be like him – authors who tell a dang good story and enjoy their craft.

Today is also a day when Anonymous has proclaimed it is fed up with Kanye West.  Anonymous called Kanye a “spoiled brat” and had some very interesting things to say about wife, Kim.  I am not a fan of Kanye West.  I, too, view him as a rich, spoiled brat.  After watching the video – it will be posted at the end of the article – I couldn’t help but smile because Anonymous said everything many people think about the man and Kim.  Does this mean Anonymous is targeting Kanye West?  It is unclear to me in the video so I’ll leave this to your discernment.  It surprised me to learn in the video Kanye West considers himself a Renaissance man.  Really?  Does he understand exactly what such a title means?  I don’t believe so.  I do recognize Mr. West believes himself to be far more intelligent than the lower public who should buy his records, stand when he tells them to – even if they are in wheelchairs -, and is “tough” all the dang time.  Strong people, really tough people, don’t act like they’re tough.  Posturing gets him no-where.  Really.  No-where.

In less exciting news – there was writing accomplished by me today.

About Henrietta Handy

I am a Kentucky mountain girl far from home, perhaps far from the girl years. I am an aspiring writer with a wonderful husband who puts up with this writing and reading addiction I have. He also puts up with all of the yarn and knitting. I have four canine children and a ton of friends I love dearly. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 2 1/2 and have still managed to have a good life despite all the pain. So, I invite you to join me in this journey and just possibly have fun along the way.
