There is something very soothing about a fire crackling in the fireplace. Besides the obvious of extra warmth to the house or apartment – we’re lucky to have a fireplace in our apartment – the sense of security and home is very much centered around the fire. The second thing speaking of a secure and safe home is, of course, food, but we will get to this later.
There are videos on Netflix where there is footage of a fire in a fireplace with Christmas music playing in the background. Recently, when we had friends over, Carlos built a real fire in our fireplace and I put the video on with the music. Everyone commented on very much at home they felt and how the music and the video of the fire, along with the real fire, was peaceful.
I am not the only one who enjoys a good fire. The dogs enjoy one, too; however, Gabby and Chewie, the ones who have the most fur, can’t often lay in front of the fire without becoming over-heated. Willie would go lie in front of the fire, but he rarely leaves my side. As he grows up and older he may take advantage of the empty spot in front of the fire.
