Sunday, Quiet

It is a very quiet Sunday.  Carlos is doing tai chi and I am waiting for him to come home. Per usual.  Our friend “Greenbriar” is here playing Diablo 3; the dogs are scattered around the apartment snoozing; and the screen door is protecting us from bugs while allowing good summer air in the house.  Overall, this is a restful Sunday.

Actually, this whole weekend has been unexpectedly restful, which has been most surprising.  It has also been needed.  Both Carlos and I have needed to rest and permit ourselves to do so.  I have even played a good amount of Dark Souls.
Earlier, Gabby and I went outside and sat in the sun for a while before it became too hot.  Neither of us really wanted to come inside, but I didn’t want to get a sunburn and Gabby was getting a bit too warm by the way she was panting.  As soon as we came in the house we both went straight to get some water.

The Husband found an old book frame for holding booms, of course.  It works better for me with the Nook than the cover that makes a stand.  It goes to the perfect angle for typing/writing as well as reading.  The only ‘alteration’ I had to make was tying a bit of yarn so the ‘feet’ wouldn’t slide out unexpectedly.  I am sure, at some point, I will get a cover for my tablet, or a sleeve of some kind, but will continue to use the stand.

About Henrietta Handy

I am a Kentucky mountain girl far from home, perhaps far from the girl years. I am an aspiring writer with a wonderful husband who puts up with this writing and reading addiction I have. He also puts up with all of the yarn and knitting. I have four canine children and a ton of friends I love dearly. I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 2 1/2 and have still managed to have a good life despite all the pain. So, I invite you to join me in this journey and just possibly have fun along the way.
