Mutants and Hybrids

If you were one part human, two parts something else — another animal, a plant, an inanimate object — what would the other two parts be?

Being a gamer, this question caused all sorts of ideas to pop up for me.

Creating characters, alter egos for role-playing adventure games is something I have grown used to through the years.  There is something about stepping out of the normal every-day life and into the world of magic and adventure that just lets you escape, literally.  Yes, some people take it too far, but most are like me – seeking a diversion from the worries of their world once a week.

So, if I had to create a hybrid/mutant self, what would I be?

There would be dog aspects definitely.  Something big and protective, like a mastiff or a Great Dane, and probably something soft and fuzzy.  Since cats and dogs literally do not mix, Would I go so far as to put some feline into the mix?  No, I don’t think so.  Not this time round.  I’d put some Labrador in there.  You can’t go wrong with having a Labrador for a friend or in the mix of what you have.  Their love and loyalty are remarkable, and since having Chewie in my life, well, I would definitely want a part of him to round out the big, strong protector.

People already say I am part dog anyway, and I already have my pack.  🙂

About Henrietta Handy

I have returned home to the mountains. No more am I "a mountain-girl far from home." Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 2 1/2, I understand pain, fatigue, laughter, joy, and love all while on crutches and in wheelchairs. This blog is just about me, mostly the writing side, but there are forays into so many different topics. I am married to a wonderful husband who puts up with my writing, knitting, yarn, with the love of a saint. We have fur babies, and one cat who rules us all.
