Today In The Ink Mines

Not much has happened in the ink mines today. Yours truly has worked hard at staying warm and feeling better. Woke up feeling horrible. My head felt like a medium sized watermelon, there was a headache, and I was cold underneath all the blankets. Carlos was an excellent husband, though, and brought me Advil, a vitamin, and a couple of supplements with some water. I took these, set my alarm and slept hard until 11. The alarm was set for 10:30 AM.

After getting up had a nice hot cup of coffee and settled in to read my Bible. When I woke up at two o’clock I was freezing! My first thought was maybe I had a fever, but, looking around it was plain it was just cold here in the apartment because the dogs were all huddled together. Even Gaby, our solitary fireplace sitter, was in the cuddle.

To help with the cold I actually fixed us all some hot beverages. I got another cut of steaming hot coffee and they had some lovely, warm broth. It helped tremendously! The dogs are now a little less cuddled up – not packed tight like sardines.

I have managed to re-read previous wordage, tweaked it, and nodded in approval. It is not perfect, but it works. When it works I can ask no more of it, unless I know it can work better.

Also, one of the things that caught my eye today on the Internet is a story about Prince. He is dropping his lawsuit against his fans. Prince was upset over his fan following linking to his images, etc.. You can read about it here. 1

Still playing with Ubuntu. Very happy with it.

Now, back to the ink mines while there is still daylight.

I have returned home to the mountains. No more am I "a mountain-girl far from home." Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 2 1/2, I understand pain, fatigue, laughter, joy, and love all while on crutches and in wheelchairs. This blog is just about me, mostly the writing side, but there are forays into so many different topics. I am married to a wonderful husband who puts up with my writing, knitting, yarn, with the love of a saint. We have fur babies, and one cat who rules us all.
