Have entered the world of Linux. Currently have downloaded and am using Ubuntu OS. Cheyenne had to hold my hand and help me with the partitioning and actually getting started.
Ubuntu is more favourable to me than OpenSUSE was, even though OpenSUSE was the one that changed my mind about Linux in general. And, this distro looks like it suites me better than OpenSUSE.
Today has been a day of playing with the computer and not much work in the ink mines. The temps are getting to me. Earlier this morning, when Carlos walked the dogs, it was a whopping 4°F. Around Noon the temp jumped up to a dazzling 6°F. Now it is back down to 4°F. The wind chill has not changed really – it has been a constant -10°F or -11°F.
On the other end of the spectrum is my sister who lives in Florida. When I spoke with her it was sunshiny and 72°F. <sigh> Warmer weather will come to Kentucky. In time.
I am actually quite proud of myself for stepping into the Linux waters. Since I have to replace the hard drive in my PC/desktop I am going to make it an Ubuntu machine as well.
In other news, poor Carlos had to go back to the doctor today for some more antibiotics. Hopefully fourth time is the charm.
