Some Modern Conveniences

I have completely abandoned the office for the moment. It is just too cold for these old arthritic bones to take. When it stops being so cold I will move the borrowed laptop back there and settle again into the main shaft of the ink mines. For now I am just glad there are laptops available for me to use and get writing done, and research in relative comfort. If the hands and joints are happier then the writing actually goes more smoothly.

Besides writing, laptops let the writer run away to some TV or movie she wants to watch on Netflix or Hulu. (insert waggle of eyebrows here)

More snow came last night. There are actually “inches” of snow on the ground now. I would guess there is about 3” so far, and more snow is supposed to fall tonight and tomorrow. The kitchen table will also serve as a writing station for the next foreseeable future.

Isn’t it wonderful to have these modern conveniences?

About Henrietta Handy

I have returned home to the mountains. No more am I "a mountain-girl far from home." Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 2 1/2, I understand pain, fatigue, laughter, joy, and love all while on crutches and in wheelchairs. This blog is just about me, mostly the writing side, but there are forays into so many different topics. I am married to a wonderful husband who puts up with my writing, knitting, yarn, with the love of a saint. We have fur babies, and one cat who rules us all.

  1. Brian Bixby says:

I do likewise, moving my laptop to the living room when my study is too cold. It never gets too hot, though, or if it does, a cold beer helps.
