When I was a young girl I always imagined what having a computer would be like. Would it be like Star Trek? Would be cooler than Star Trek? When I actually got one of my own I was thrilled, mostly because I could write and correct typing mistakes with such ease.
Later, with the development of the Internet and World Wide Web, the world was literally open to me. From that moment on I have not felt tied down or in an information cage. However, each and every time my computer goes down or gets wonky, the feeling of being separated from the rest of the world hits home.
Not only do I use the Web for research, and for looking things up in my daily life in general, there are some Internet friends I’ve made and dearly love playing Rummy 500 with and other games. There are mastiff chat rooms I visit on almost a daily basis and now can’t,even with my smart phone.
I really miss my computer world. 😳
