A Moment

Klondike Highway - Clouds

Klondike Highway – Clouds (Photo credit: blmiers2)

Here is something I wrote in my private, written diary and thought it would be nice to share with all of you:

I tilted back in my chair today.  I reminded myself more of a turtle than any time so far this summer.  As soon as I am up I am usually outside with a book or just saying my prayers and enjoying that moment of peace before “living” takes over and there isn’t a moment to breathe.  The sky was a dusty pale blue.  What few clouds were in the sky were so fluffy and white they reminded me of cotton balls and roving just before its drafted or pre-drafted.  This is when the roving is softest to me, and the clouds reminded me of that.

Seeing the blue expanse and the clouds I felt myself relax and give in to God’s presence.  He created all of this magnificence.  He made everything work out just right so we live on a truly beautiful marble hurtling through space.  And, if aliens exist, they must surely believe in God if they are truly advanced, because they would not be so hesitant to acknowledge an Ultimate Creator.  There is something, someone out there so big and perfect and loving that He actually created beauty itself, and song, and water that’s so perfect in ice tea during the summer….  Everything fits. If you really look at it, seriously, the Big Bang had to come from somewhere. No matter how far you go, there is always that point of the very beginning of the chain reaction that is life and existence itself and you have to ask yourself, So what caused that to happen? Something cannot come from Nothing.

About Henrietta Handy

I have returned home to the mountains. No more am I "a mountain-girl far from home." Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 2 1/2, I understand pain, fatigue, laughter, joy, and love all while on crutches and in wheelchairs. This blog is just about me, mostly the writing side, but there are forays into so many different topics. I am married to a wonderful husband who puts up with my writing, knitting, yarn, with the love of a saint. We have fur babies, and one cat who rules us all.

  1. There’s something about the look in your eyes;Something I noticed when the light was just rightIt reminded me twice that I was alive; And it reminded me that you’re so worth the fight.

  2. I am really impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid topic or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice high quality writing, it’s rare to see a great weblog like this one these days..
