The Sky is Blue and Worlds Evolve in the Mind

Novels in a Polish bookstore

All my life  I’ve heard “Write what you know.”  Suddenly this cliché has taken on a new meaning because I am “writing what I know” in a very science fantasy(?) perspective.

Currently the story itself is in the planning/plotting/almost-research stage.  I have “talked” this one out with a friend of mine more than I have talked a story idea out before in my entire writing life!  Each sister, names changed of course (but I feel I am going to be killed at some point because the words “But I don’t do that!” is going to be said or “Do you see me that way?!” is going to be asked) is in the story because it is my fantasy about my family set in this fantastical world.  I am split into twins.

It doesn’t have a name yet but there are wonderful puzzles, Victorian pieces, and yet everything is modern, just with a Victorian aesthetic on this particular world.  Perhaps this is too complicated, but there are lots of notes and an entire notebook set aside just for more notes and a journal that will be set aside for it if necessary.

The structure of this novel is complicated.  Because of this it will begin on the computer and stay there.   Notes and other information will probably be handwritten and transferred because it will just be easier, especially if it keeps waking me up in the middle of the night with ideas and snippets of scenes and dialogue.

This level of story and interest hasn’t happened in many years!

Suddenly it doesn’t matter if this story isn’t published.  I just want to experience this story!

About Henrietta Handy

I have returned home to the mountains. No more am I "a mountain-girl far from home." Diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at 2 1/2, I understand pain, fatigue, laughter, joy, and love all while on crutches and in wheelchairs. This blog is just about me, mostly the writing side, but there are forays into so many different topics. I am married to a wonderful husband who puts up with my writing, knitting, yarn, with the love of a saint. We have fur babies, and one cat who rules us all.
